Community is at the heart of everything we do, it is where we came from and it is what we choose to invest in.
As a successful social enterprise, we see it as our duty to invest in our community. We collaborate with a number of organisations to provide community courses and free training courses.
The Language Shop collaborated with NewDAy to train a cohort of chosen interpreters to interpret effectively during domestic and sexual violence appointments. These interpreters are now specialised and work with extremely vulnerable service users throughout the East London community. If you think you may need a specially trained interpreter, please get in touch.
The Language Shop fund ESOL classes in our local community. The 2019/20 class is made up of 16 BAME female learners with little to no English skills. The classes take place at the Renewal Centre in East Ham. The classes aim to increase the confidence and independence of the attendees. We are passionate about helping our local community to thrive and proud to support The Renewal Programme with their important work.
